Climate warming - facts vs. myths - lectures for high schools

We would like to invite you to two lectures by Dr. Karolina Kiełbasa, Prof. ZUT, entitled "Climate warming - facts vs. myths". Climate Warming - Facts vs. Myths, on May 6 and 8 (Tuesday and Thursday) at 10:00 - 12:00 to the Conference Room of the Marine Science Center (1st floor). Carbon dioxide or methane are greenhouse gases, the emission of which is considered to be one of the most important causes of climate change, causing, among other things, global warming. CO2 plays the most significant role in the greenhouse effect, as it remains much longer in the atmosphere compared to other gases. Today, the demand for energy continues to increase, so reducing or completely eliminating the use of fossil fuels in the future is basically impossible. Therefore, new ways to use greenhouse gases as raw materials for the synthesis of useful products are being sought. A great deal of research has been devoted to developing new materials for use in technologies leading to CO2 capture and storage. However, reducing emissions alone may not be enough, unfortunately, and the time is approaching when, in order to save the planet, it will be necessary to fundamentally rebuild it. How could we, in view of this, help the environment? For example, by hacking it. How? You will find out by listening to the lecture. See you there!
