The history of Goleniów dates back to the 13th century. Today, you can still see some historic buildings and sections of defensive walls.

The area of the Old Town in Goleniów consists of several historic buildings. They are: St. Catherine's Church, Wolin Gate, city walls, Granary on Ina, St. George's Church, ruins of St. Jerzy, the school building complex at Kilińskiego Street 11, post office at 3 Maja Street and the prison complex.

There are also other interesting tourist attractions in the Old Town. These are Goleniów Planty with the Monument of Independence, the building of the district court, the water tower near the hospital, the railway water tower at the station with a half-timbered head from 1912, the park of Ignacy Paderewski and the former hunting lodge located on its site, the park of the 30th anniversary with a memorial stone.

The Ina River flows near the Old Town. The beautiful areas of the Goleniów Forest are nearby.
