The Gothic revival brick church was built in the early 20th century as a Protestant temple. The church survived both world wars intact. After World War II, it was handed over to the local Catholic parish and consecrated in 1946.

The church is in the eastern part of the city, near national road No. 93 and the Wielka Struga river.
