Marie Hager House

A permanent gallery with works by the Mecklenburg landscape and architectural painter Marie Hager can be seen in Burg Stargard. Furniture, letters and other personal items from the estate of the artist, who lived and worked in Burg Stargard from 1921 until her death in 1947, are also on display. It is thanks to a niece of the painter that a representative exhibition of her works can be shown in Marie Hager's former home. She bequeathed the estate and the house to the town on the condition that the building be turned into a memorial and a meeting place for art and artists. Three rooms in the lovingly designed house are used for various special exhibitions by artists from the region.
