Sassnitz Zoo

Sassnitz Zoo is located on the outskirts of the city, somewhat hidden in the old beech forests of Jasmund National Park. Here - in the romantic valley of the Steinbach stream - live numerous native wild animals and some exotic ones. Sometimes the Steinbach hums wildly, sometimes it ripples romantically beside the animal park's paths. The place is one of a kind. You can also visit the animal enclosure, which is a magnet especially for many small zoo visitors. At the same time, the Sassnitz Zoo is a place of peace, relaxation and learning for all generations. Visit the Sassnitz Zoo, the only one on the island of Rügen! Here you can observe fur-babies, wildcats, pheasants, goats, mouflons, sheep, owls, wild boars, but also foxes and guinea pigs. The area is complemented by a playground, an outdoor stage, a mouse house and a riding school.
