The crossing harkens back to pre-war times, when Gozdowice was still a prized resort. The Gozdowice - Güstebieser Loose ferry crossing is the first ferry crossing on the Oder River in Poland. Years ago, the village was divided between Poland and Germany, at which time the ferry connection was eliminated. It was not until 2007 that the two parts of the village were symbolically united and integrated.
The ferry runs from April to October.
Ferry Without Borders in Gozdowice is a modern ferry, carrying not only people, but also cars, bicycles and motorcycles. Ferry cruises can be excellent entertainment for families with children.
